Refurbishment Commences at the York Castle Museum

Listed Building and Scheduled Ancient Monument Consents have been received and I&G have been awarded the contract for a project to revitalise the Castle Museum’s visitor facilities. A new cafe will be introduced to the museum’s Concourse, while the shop will be relocated and re-fitted.

The project aims to improve the way visitors flow through the museum, operated by York Museums Trust. As well as the changes to the cafe and retail facilities, circulation to and from the Debtors Prison wing will be improved.

The museum will remain open for business as usual.
