Scope of works

The works comprised of the strip out and demolition of existing wards and associated areas inclusive of works within the interstitial floors between the proposed areas for refurbishment.

The new construction included the construction of:

  • Two operating theatre suites inclusive of the formations of openings through slabs
  • Installation of structural steel for theatre canopies and lighting
  • Full refurbishment of all areas comprising the construction of new internal walls, floors, wall and ceiling finishes, fixtures and fittings – furniture and mechanical & electrical services.

This scheme was of particular note as the tendered intent included a construction programme period of 20 weeks due to the client’s operational restrictions and requirements for early delivery I&G were able to deliver the scheme within an 11 week construction phase period to accord with the client’s requirements.
