Scope of works
The works consisted of the strip out and demolition of redundant areas of level D, Clarendon Wing, Leeds General Infirmary. Inclusive of all masonry walls and the redundant M&E services from the interstitial plant room level below and the roof top plant room above. The works were undertaken to form new en-suite single bed patient care areas, reception and admission rooms, treatment areas, 6 bed bay areas together with the formation of a HDU facility.
New works comprised of:
- Construction of new internal walls and doors,
- Pumped new screeds from the ground floor to level D,
- Walls and ceiling finishes,
- New sanitary ware provisions and
- New M&E services provisions
All works were undertaken within a live hospital environment with contractors only access being facilitated via external hoist with existing operating theatre suites, eye surgery and C.T. Scanner facilities all remaining fully operational within the floors below and adjacent to the wing being refurbished.
